About Us

Author / photographer Thomas Routzong was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and given only a 30% chance of survival. His wife lost her battle with cancer soon after. Thomas survived and vowed not to waste even a minute of the rest his life. After working on the Apollo 11 space program that achieved the first man on the moon and then serving his community for 30 years as an educator, he began traveling the world, writing, and photographing beauty.

Author / photographer Steven Skelley has been a columnist for nine newspapers, a writer for many magazines and a staff features writer for a news service resulting in hundreds of published articles. His mother and both sisters all passed away much too young in their forties. At age 43, Steven battled his own life-threatening illness after being exposed to toxic mold but survived with a desire to encourage others through his writing, photography and music. 

In 2006, Routzong and Skelley launched Sunny Harbor Publishing to encourage others to see the world and see it in a new way.

THE GARGOYLE JEWEL -  A simple and beautiful little tale of knowing what’s important and making the right choices. Author Skelley/McWilliams has concocted a very impressive little tale for us.Its greatest virtue is its simplicity. But , precisely because of its brevity and unpretentiousness, he succeeds in dealing with many profound issues

in a very straightforward manner: bravery, loyalty,truth, self-sacrifice,honor, tenderness, and love. He imbues his protagonists with depth, sincerity, and character and weaves an enchanting story with drama, pathos, humor, and subtlety. It ends very neatly but leaves the impression that a sequel could ( hopefully) emerge one day. Adding to its genuine and personal tone are the inspirations from his own experiences that the author shares. You finish the book with an uplifted feeling, which I suspect was Mr. Skelley/McWilliams’ intent. Don’t hide it on the shelf when you’re done -you’ll want to read it again and again!!

THE GARGOYLE JEWEL - The Gargoyle Jewel is a wonderful  tale of an alternate world which has many ramifications for the present day world in which we coexist. Author Skelley/McWilliams spins a fast moving and very atmospheric story which leaves one breathless at times. Can an aging and dying gargoyle save this alternate world or will it be Vlad, the infamous vampire or could it even be a human? The Gargoyle Jewel will keep you guessing until the very end! This book is the perfect antidote of hope for these weird and dangerous times we are now living in. Curl up with your favorite drink, turn the lights down and stay up all night reading this thought provoking tale.

THE GARGOYLE JEWEL - I have read hundreds, if not thousands, of Fantasy and Science Fiction stories. This story catches you from the first few pages and holds your attention until the unexpected conclusion. I hope the author Skelley/McWilliams continues writing in this genre.
