From August 1979 to June 1982, two years and ten months, we sailed 30,000 miles from Seattle, Washington to Port Canaveral, Florida. Gay Heartbreak And Triumph - Revealing life stories of gay men by gay men by Steven Skelley

I was fifty-five years old in a doctor’s office when a medical specialist asked for permission to ask me a personal question. I agreed and he said, “I don’t have a lot of experience with gay men but I want to understand.

You are a man’s man – very masculine. I would have never guessed that you  were gay. I see other gay guys that are very feminine. How can gay men be so different?”

I welcomed his question and was honored that he would trust me enough to ask.

The truth is that every human being is unique whether gay or not. The doctor’s question got me thinking though. What if I asked gay men to share  stories from their lives to help others understand?

This book is the result.

Why Do People Die?

Three silly penguins and  loving approach to a difficult subject

by Steven Skelley writing as S.E. McWilliams

The loss of a friend, pet or family member can be devastating. I wrote “Why Do People Die?” to look at the question from a child’s view. In my book, a family of cute penguins discusses this mystery and finds a simple and comforting way to let love heal a questioning heart.

I do not consider myself an illustrator but I had a picture in my mind for this book. I knew I wanted to create a family of penguins. I spent several months trying different mediums from felt board characters to paper dolls to coloring book characters. The finished product was hand drawn characters using a trusty Sharpie marker.

The Art of the Male Nude Yesterday and Today by Steven Skelley.

Naturism and nudism are natural. We are all born nude. Every creature in creation lives their lives naturally nude. There is nothing more natural than being nude. My love of nude art began early in my childhood. When I saw photos of Greek and Roman art, I was in love. I felt a brotherhood, a communion with the nudes. For this project, I used Twitter and Facebook to ask people around the world to send me examples of their artistic nude art and photography. I also added photography of iconic nude art that I captured around the world. I hope that you enjoy this collection of male nudes past and present.

When I Think Of You, I Always Start To Smile by Steven Skelley writing as S.E. McWilliams is a poem about happy memories paired with joyful photos from around the world.
Memories are important. Every connection we make with another soul creates a memory. Each of us has a vast library of happy memories stored in our brains. When I feel like I am all alone in the world or failing miserably at life in general, those are the times I access the happy memory library in my mind. It is there, when I close my eyes for a few moments, that I see my loved ones ageless in my heart. So, if you don’t know by now - when I think of you, I always start to smile. S.E. McWilliams

We were to remember this was just another See You Later.
